3 Days Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech to Erg Chigaga

Your journey begins in the morning with departure from Marrakech in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle. Cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying panoramic views, photo stops, and local artisan shops along the way.

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning fortified village known for its traditional earthen architecture and as a filming location for movies such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Continue toward Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” home to some of the largest film studios in the region. Travel through the breathtaking Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves and oasis landscapes. Arrival in Agdez where you will spend the night.

After breakfast, continue your adventure through the beautiful Draa Valley, famous for its lush palm plantations and ancient kasbahs. Enjoy scenic landscapes and photo stops on the way to M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the gateway to the Sahara.

Stop in Tamgroute to visit one of the oldest Quranic libraries in Morocco. Then continue to M’Hamid for lunch.

After lunch, depart by 4×4 toward the vast dunes of Erg Chigaga. From a wide desert plateau, witness the impressive and endless golden dunes. Upon arrival at the camp, enjoy a camel ride through the dunes at sunset.

Spend the evening at a traditional Berber desert camp, enjoying dinner and a magical night under a sky full of stars.

Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, begin the return journey to Marrakech by 4×4.

Cross desert tracks, pass through Foum Zguid via the old Paris–Dakar rally route, and drive by the dried Lake Iriqui. Continue to Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets, where you will stop for lunch.

Travel through Berber villages and the Atlas Mountains before arriving back in Marrakech in the late afternoon (around 6:00 PM). You will be dropped off at your hotel or riad, marking the end of your unforgettable Sahara adventure. ✨
